Measurements of $R^{d}-R^{p}$ and $R^{Ca}-R^{C}$ in deep inelastic muon scattering

1992

Results are presented on the difference in R, the ratio of longitudinally to transversely polarised virtual photon absorption cross sections, for the deuteron and the proton. They are obtained by c ...

Heavy-mesons exchange and the backward deuteron electrodisintegration

1992

Backward electrodisintegration of the deuteron is calculated using an exchange-current operator containing π, η, ρ, ω, δ, σ, andA1 exchanges. The deuteron and1S0np wave functions are derived from the Bonn OBEPs. For completeness, we introduced theA1-meson exchange into the OBEP's as well. As a consequence, the value ofD-state probabilityPD is increased by 0.2%–0.8%. The computed cross sections are compared with new data.

Röntgenkleinwinkelstreuung an Fadenmolekülen in Lösung. Zum problem der Elimination der Lösungsmittelstreuung

1965

Nicht-A…

Optimization of multilayered nanotubes for maximal scattering cancellation

2016

An optimization for multilayered nanotubes that minimizes the scattering efficiency for a given polarization is derived. The cylindrical nanocavities have a radially periodic distribution, and the marginal layers that play a crucial role particularly in the presence of nonlocalities are disposed to reduce the scattering efficiency up to two orders of magnitude in comparison with previous proposals. The predominant causes leading to such invisibility effect are critically discussed. A transfer-matrix formalism is additionally developed for the fast estimation of the scattering efficiency of the nanostructures.

Revealing the Majorana nature of heavy neutrinos via a heavy Higgs boson

1992

Abstract Analyzing several recently proposed models, based on simple extensions of the standard model (SM), with heavy Majorana neutrinos, it is shown that the change of detecting lepton number violation through their production and subsequent decays may be significantly enhanced, if a heavy Higgs boson with mass within a reasonably broad range is present.

Polarization effects in exclusive semi-leptonic Λc and Λb charm and bottom baryon decays

1992

Abstract We discuss polarization effects in semi-leptonic decays of polarized and unpolarized heavy Λ-type baryons into heavy and into light Λ-type baryons. We use the non-leptonic decay of the daughter baryon and the leptonic decay of the Woff-shell into a lepton pair as polarization analyzers to analyze the polarization of the daughter baryon and the Woff-shell. Technically this is done by writing down joint angular decay distributions. We calculate the values of the various asymmetry parameters that characterize the angular dependence of the angular decay distributions where we use the predictions of the heavy quark effective theory (HQET) supplemented by simple ansatze for the q2-depend…
